Solar Materials Department

Performe basic and applied research in materials for the development of optical and photothermal devices that can be used for in application and control of the solar energy.

The mission of this department is to carry out research and technological developments, for the exploitation of renewable energy sources, to contribute to the acquisition of advance technology by national institutions; to know the present and future energy impacts in the society, to give assistance and to educate in this area, in order to contribute to the sustainable development of the country.

The department of thermoscience studies the dynamic processes in materials, thermodynamics of irreversible processes, transport in porous materials, electronic properties of porous silicon, natural convection in cavities, thermoacoustic effect, natural convection in two fluids of different density, thermal analysis of optic controllers, natural convection and thermal radiation in cavities and concentrated radioactive flows.
