Group aims

To carry out applied research and develop solar concentration technology, both in solar concentration collector -- optics of the concentration systems, thermal studies in receptors and development of absorbent and reflective materials-- and physical and chemical processes by which concentrated solar energy, is transformed to other types of energy and material useful for the human being. Develop and build advanced solar concentration systems.

To carry out studies, counsel and give training to enterprises or institutions that need solar concentration energy systems.

Educate students , mainly postgraduate, through courses and thesis counsel; to divulge knowledge in the solar energy area, mainly in solar concentration.

Research lines:

1. Optics of solar concentration; image and non-image.

2. Heat transfer in receptors of concentration systems; problems compound of conduction, convection and radiation.

3. Research in reflector and absorbent materials; development and measurement of properties.

4. Direct convection in energy; thermoionic and thermoelectric.

5. Photocatalysis and solar detoxication.

6. Thermosolar power systems.

7. High temperature processes and high radioactive fluxes: detoxification and solar fuel production: hydrogen.

8. Pilot plants with solar concentration systems.
