To research the present and future, environmental, technological, social and political aspects, , of the energy in Mexico and worldwide, as well as to give services and education. To generate knowledge in structures, policies and impact of the energy through diagnosis, analysis and prospective studies.

Educate Students, mainly postgraduates through courses and thesis counsel; to divulge knowledge in planing, environmental and energy areas.

Research lines: 1. Structural change of energy industries. 2. Analysis research carried out in the energy sector. 3. Energy sector economy.
